February sees the launch of a new series of very special Enterprise For Life workshops, delivered in partnership with London Stock Exchange Group. But what does Enterprise For Life look like? 

What makes Enterprise For Life different?

Enterprise For Life (EFL) skills bring together key areas of the economy, covering the different strands and skills every individual should be armed with – no matter their background. Whether in or out of education, leaving the Services, or in semi-or-full retirement, EFL will offer you the tools you need to feel empowered.

We provide you with a rich insight into the tapestry of the economy so that you can identify where you want to make the most impact, tailoring knowledge to your needs. Every delegate, be they from government, corporate, or charity, has found it immensely helpful and relevant to their individual career choice. I will be leading the delivery, and experts from across a variety of sectors will come along and get involved.

EFL isn’t just about arming people with knowledge, it’s also about offering opportunities for people to connect. People can make a difference beyond their career choices and make connections for societal good. Through engagement, we’re finding the powerful formula of ‘doing well to do good’, bringing a new edge to enterprise.

What sets LSEG apart as a client?

Starting with the City of London, we are keen to use a city-by-city strategy for our programmes. This involves Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds – hopefully even as far as Newcastle, depending on the appetites of big businesses. While we may be starting with the Armed Forces and Emergency Services communities, we plan to extend this programme as far as possible, with the hope of offering our courses both online and more widely for further accessibility.

This programme brings us back to the very creation of X-Forces Enterprise and X-Emergency Services. Having these fond memories of beginning our own businesses makes giving back feel more poignant, reinforcing the value of offering others the opportunity to grow in their own ventures – once again, ‘doing well to do good’. It shows that enterprise isn’t just about your career, it’s about building communities, expanding your network, and feeling supported – Enterprise for Life, it’s in the name!
